13 days later and the stitches are out!

Today I went from this, (the stitches healed up quite nice-refer to last post)
To this! The scar should be pretty impressive:)

Tasks that will be so much easier now:

Getting ready- showering/washing my hair, using a brush/comb, DOING my hair, dressing (buttons in particular), texting, switching gears in the jeep, WASHING MY HANDS (Couldn't get the stitches wet), using a can opener, etc. Basically anything that required pressure to be put on the thumb.

Moral of the story. I need my thumb. You do not realize how much you use it until it is gone (ok it wasn't technically gone, but you know what I mean). Let's be more careful around the stapler huh?

 One stack of staples
+ one stapler (mine was green)
= a need for 3 stitches in the thumb.
You bet it's as sore and swollen as it looks.
Bravo Heidi.
Seriously, who has to get stitches after trying to load a stapler?

One Year Ago

on May 1st, I returned home from my mission.

When trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more. He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where he wants you to be requires a lot of stretching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain... this life is an experience in profound trust- trust in Jesus Christ.

In one year I have:
  • suffered from post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety greatly to having overcome.
  • gone from eating pretty much nothing to having a normal diet for the most part.
  • felt more frustration, anger, hurt, and loneliness than I thought I could bear.
  • had my heart broken.
  • gone from a normal body weight to being rail thin and then back to a normal weight again.
  • taken countless benadryl.
  • had many meltdowns with lots of tears.
  • moved out and moved back home.
  • had a paper route.
  • had 3 jobs.
  • completed 2 semesters at SLCC.
  • Seen too many doctors.
  • experienced lonely holidays.
  • ran a 5k
  • overcome fears
  • had many new experiences
And this is not all but the #1 thing I have learned is to Give it all to God. In Faith, I have turned everything over to him and let him take over. And because I did this miracles have happened/are happening in my life and I could not be more happy.
